In this short and honest solo episode of the Dietitian Success Podcast, I’m sharing why this podcast is going on a hiatus for a little while.
I talk through what’s been going on behind the scenes and why I’m choosing to focus my energy elsewhere.
If you’ve been a loyal listener – thank you, thank you, thank you. This podcast has been a huge part of how DSC has grown, and I’m so grateful for your support.

Hey there, and welcome back to the Dietitian Success Podcast. I’m your host, Krista Kolodziejzyk. If you’re new here, welcome. And if you’ve been listening for a while, you probably know this isn’t the typical episode format. Today is going to be a little different. It’s more of a real-life, behind-the-scenes conversation about what’s been going on, why I haven’t been showing up on the podcast lately, and what this means moving forward.
I’m just going to dive right in. As the title suggests, the Dietitian Success Podcast is going to be taking a hiatus. I don’t know exactly how long that hiatus will be, and I’ll explain why. I do want to be really clear that this is only about the podcast. Dietitian Success Center as a company is alive, growing, and honestly better than ever. We’re still very active on Instagram, LinkedIn, our blog, and inside our community. DSC as a brand is expanding in a really exciting way, and that growth is actually a big part of why this decision is happening right now.
Before I get into all of that, I just want to say how grateful I am for you. This podcast has been running for four years. Four years. We’ve made it to 219 episodes, which still feels surreal. At the beginning of my business journey, consistency was something I really struggled with. This podcast became proof to myself that I could build systems and show up consistently. It’s been one of the biggest confidence boosters for me as an entrepreneur. Connecting with you over business and entrepreneurship through this platform has been such a gift. And this isn’t the end of me talking about business. It’s just a bookmark for now.
If you want to keep hearing my thoughts on business and entrepreneurship, I’d recommend connecting with me on LinkedIn. I genuinely enjoy that platform, and we often repost some of our top-performing content there. You can search for me, Krista Kolodziejzyk, and I would love to connect.
So, why is the podcast taking a hiatus? The “why” is layered. There are business reasons and personal reasons, and the personal reasons were really the catalyst. I’ll start with the business side.
One of the most consistent pieces of advice I’ve received from mentors—people far more successful than me—is this: if something in your business is working, focus on it. If you have an offer that generates revenue, gets results, and people are talking about and sharing, then you owe it to that offer and to your audience to maximize its potential. There’s usually some constraint preventing it from reaching the next level, and your job is to remove that constraint. To do that well, you have to focus.
You can really only be exceptional at one thing at a time. That idea has sat with me for the past year. To create something truly excellent requires time, energy, and thought. It requires depth. And when you’re spreading yourself across multiple offers and multiple ideal client avatars, that excellence gets diluted.
At DSC, our pursuit of excellence matters deeply to me. Right now, that excellence is centered on our Practitioner Membership. This is where dietitians access our client handouts, evidence summaries, video courses, and case studies. It serves clinical dietitians, community dietitians, and many private practice owners. Historically, though, we’ve had more than one core offer. We’ve had the Practitioner Membership, business memberships, one-on-one coaching, and combinations of all of the above. That meant we were speaking to different avatars with very different needs.
When you try to speak to everyone, you end up speaking to no one. Even within a niche like dietitians, clarity and specificity matter. On our old website, we tried to sell multiple memberships on one sales page. As of January, we shifted our messaging to focus primarily on one core avatar: the practitioner dietitian. And it works. When you tailor your offer and messaging to one person and one problem, it cuts through the noise.
Having multiple offers pulled our team in different directions and diluted focus. Meanwhile, the Practitioner Membership has become increasingly valuable, especially for entrepreneurial dietitians. A large portion of our users are private practice owners because the membership saves them time and increases confidence. In our recent annual survey, 67% of members reported using DSC weekly, and 27% use it daily. That’s huge. When your time is valuable, having a tool that saves hours and supports better client care is powerful. The ROI becomes clear.
We’ve also added CEU workshops and have so many ideas for how to continue building this into something even more impactful. To do that well, we need to go all in.
Now, the personal side. This is what really accelerated the decision. I’m expecting my second baby in the fall, which is so exciting. And this pregnancy has completely knocked me off my feet. Physically and mentally, it’s been very different. The nausea and vomiting have been intense and persistent. In my first trimester, I was off work more than I ever expected. I was canceling meetings and clients because I simply couldn’t show up. If I had to reschedule with you during that time, thank you for your patience. Everyone was incredibly kind.
I’ve always been someone who could power through. This was the first time I had to admit that I couldn’t. That required some big, hard changes. I don’t have the same capacity right now. So I had to look honestly at where my time, energy, and mental focus could go. The podcast, as much as I love it, had to be one of the things set down.
It’s painful because I genuinely love talking about business. Even when I’m not selling anything related to it, I love the conversation. But for now, focus and capacity have to align.
So what does this mean for you? If you joined DSC back in 2024 or earlier and are in our former Nutrition + Business Membership, you still have full access to that business content. Much of it was updated at the end of 2024, so it’s fresh. However, we are not currently enrolling new members into a business-specific tier. That’s intentional. We’re focusing on the Practitioner Membership while we thoughtfully consider what the future of entrepreneurship support should look like.
Entrepreneurship is hard. Especially when you come from a healthcare background. There are mindset blocks, structural challenges, and moments where you need deeper support than a simple course or membership can provide. I want to think carefully about what that support should look like in the future. I don’t have the answer yet. But for now, practitioner support is our priority.
If you’re not on our email list, join the Free Starter Kit through our homepage. That way you’ll be the first to know about any future updates, whether related to entrepreneurship or anything else. And truly, this is also a call to consider joining the Practitioner Membership if you haven’t yet.
I know the $799 per year price point can feel like a stretch compared to other subscriptions. But I want you to think about value versus price. That shift changed everything for me as a business owner. Will this save you time? Will it help you generate revenue? Will it increase your confidence and client retention? If the answer is yes, the decision becomes clearer.
We now have over 350 ready-to-use, plain-language, evidence-based client handouts, plus evidence summaries, quick-reference guides, tools, and editable presentations. In our survey, 93% of members said DSC saves them time, and nearly 99% would recommend it to a colleague. That kind of trust doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because we design resources around how dietitians actually work. We blend clinical knowledge with behavior change strategies and practical tools your clients can actually use.
If you’re in private practice charging $150 per hour, gaining back just a few hours or onboarding a handful of additional clients can more than cover the investment. And yes, it’s generally a tax-deductible business expense, though you should confirm with your accountant.
So that’s my final invitation. I would love to see you inside the membership.
For now, this is goodbye to the podcast, but not goodbye to me. Come say hi on Instagram at @kristako.rd. I haven’t posted much lately for obvious reasons, but I’m hoping to share more once I feel a bit more like myself again. I would love to connect.
Thank you for listening. Thank you for being here. Thank you for being part of this journey. You are doing meaningful work, even when it feels hard. Keep going. Keep believing in yourself. I’m cheering you on, and I’ll talk to you soon.
